Menu Sunday

Not much planned for this week. I am out at a business dinner again on Monday and my husband is in NY on Tuesday for his class. We didn't get to the grocery store this weekend, so I'll be using what we have around the house for dinner this week. One of us will probably have to make a trip at some point to get milk, but I think we can make it to Saturday without doing a full on shopping trip.

Week One of "no eating out" seemed to work out well. I normally spend about $6 a day for lunch and Jim about the same. We also eat out at least twice a week for dinner, once at a restaurant and once for takeout. I estimate our spending on eating out to be about $135 a week. For comparison, we spent $110 at the grocery store and that was for breakfast lunch and dinner all week, plus grooming products and household staples. If we can keep this up, we'll really save a lot of money!

Sunday: Leftover Whole Wheat Penne with Roasted Vegetables
Monday: Jim fends for himself, Melissa out with a client
Tuesday: Melissa fends for herself, Jim at class
Wednesday: Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Thursday: Stromboli
Friday: Leftovers
Saturday: ??? (Grocery shopping will happen earlier in the day so we have something to eat!)

  1. I agree, eat at home always cheaper then eat at the restaurant. Seems like Wednesday, you are going to have nice dinner.

  3. I know what you mean... eating out can add up a lot of $ before you know it! Your menu looks good.
