Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Every Friday is usually pizza night in our household. Sometimes we order out, but in an effort to save, we're trying to do more eating in.
Cue, home-made pizza crust. I got the original recipe from Cooks.com, but i've had it for awhile and modified it a lot.

Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp sugar or honey
2 tbsp oil
1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1 package yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp parsley

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water.  Mix in all remaining ingredients except unbleached flour; beat well.  Add enough unbleached flour until dough is easy to handle. Add pepper, garlic, basil and parsley. Mix well.  Knead 5 minutes.  Let rise for 45 minutes.  Press on two pizza pans. Top with desired toppings and bake at 375 degrees until crust is golden (about 12 minutes).

Servings: Makes 2 pizzas

Review:
Yummy! I love making this crust. Every week I try to experiment a little bit to make it a little tastier. The spices really add to the crust. Delicious!

  2. I bet it has even more flavor with the whole wheat, the photo looks so tasty! I'd like to include your adapted pizza crust recipe on our blog. Please let me know if you're interested.
